Muzzioli Medals in Georgia

Newport Rifle Club's Alex Muzzioli participated in the 2015 USA Shooting National Championships at Fort Benning, GA during the last week of June.
He participated in ten meter air rifle, three position smallbore and smallbore prone.
It was in air rifle that the he made his mark. Shooting 60 shots standing at a 0.5mm ten ring that is ten meters away with a 4.5 mm pellet Muzzioli fired a 586-17X on the first day of competition and backed it up with a 596-21X the second. His two day aggregate of 1182-38X placed him second in the combined B/C ability group.
The competition at the national level is very tough and finishes are usually razor thin because of electronic decimal scoring in which the ten ring is divided into nine segments. Muzzioli was just 1.1 points out of first and two tenths of a point ahead of his nearest competitor.
Upon his return home he will have a few days to rest before he begins training for ten days of NRA National Smallbore Championships in which he is entered in both conventional and metric position and prone events.
